Tip: Keep Track of Important Emails

blog No Comments

I consider myself an advanced BlackBerry user but I learn new tips and tricks all the time, there are so many ways to use your BlackBerry more efficiently.  The other day some friends shared a tip that I think lots more people would probably like to take advantage of, so I am sharing it with you.

If you are using OS 5.0 then you have probably noticed that you now have the ability to flag your emails, something many of us already use widely in Outlook and other email management clients to organize and prioritize our email follow up.  So having this ability on my BlackBerry is very exciting!!  Only one problem…….. I have 5 email addresses coming in to my BlackBerry……. scrolling down the menu looking for a way to pull up a list of my flagged emails……… nothing there, I'm thinking "shit I really have to scroll through all my emails to find them?"  Thankfully Ronen(BerryReview) and Bla1ze(CrackBerry) helped me out, so my friends here is the solution:

Creating a Saved Search:

Step 1: From the message list tap on the letter S which will bring up a Search form.  Scroll to the last option "Type" and select "Email with Flags"

Step 2: Press the menu key, and select save

Step 3: The next screen will allow you to name your search, I named mine "Flagged Emails."  Now here is the part where you make it easier for yourself, this screen will also allow you to set a shortcut for this saved search!!  As you can see in the picture below you can select a shortcut letter that will bring up all of your Flagged Emails.  I set mine to Alt+A.  Hopefully this little tidbit will help you get a little more use out of your BlackBerry Today!!
