Iphone to Blackberry
This is just a small story of one of the many situations of switching from a blackberry to an iphone have occured… So one of my friends, who was a die hard iphone 3g user for well over a year was one of my friends who was mostly against the blackberry, not in a "fanboy" way per say but nonetheless he was very true to his iphone. So, after him being around me and seeing me hack away at the qwerty keypad of a couple blackberrys…most recently the tour 9630, and him finding out what bbm was….. He was sold on that alone(iphone email sucks as well……) So he at this point he himself being on ATT's network, he was interested in the blackberry bold 9000… He currently had no upgrade and there was no way he was going to pay full retail…. But one of my other friends who owned a 8310 had just upgraded to the new sleek bold 9700…. So I did some talking and got my friend with the iphone set up with the curve 8310…. The phone had battle scars as if it was from WWIII(yes world war 3….that bad) but as anyone who knows how durable the 83xx series is, you already know that the curve worked flawlessly, not much room for many apps, not the fastest processor by any means etc… But the point was… He was happy…. At this point he had already forgotten about his iphone 3g which was now just an ipod touch used for music(until he bought a microsd card). He loved the functionality of the curve bbm, reliable email etc… And dint whine about the edge only and lack of wifi on the curve.. Simple because it was a blackberry and did what it was supposed to do and did it well. Soon after he came to me and told me that even though he was really enjoying the curve, it ultimately was not what he wanted as he wanted the 9000, so on craigslist, there was a guy who claimed to be really in need of an iphone 3g and wanted to trade his bold for an iphone 3g, so long story short, we took a trip….. Swapped and now he's more than satisfied with his new 9000 and the curve is still there if its ever needed as a backup. Just goes to show you how something so simple can replace something much more complex and still perform communication functions much more effectively and efficiently. Damien
