MailMinder is a Spam Assassin

Some of you aren’t going to appreciate the value of the app I’m about to tell you about, on the other hand I have a feeling some of you may want to buy me a beer. If you don’t get much spam or that much email altogether Mail Minder may not hold a ton of value for you. However, if you have multiple emails coming to your BlackBerry, an email account you’ve had for many years( it’s my experience that the longer you have an email address the more things you register with it, resulting in junk mail), or a fairly public email address(website customer service and the like) then Mail Minder by CellAvant Inc. may be a dream come true.

It is actually a very simple application, the basic premise is to allow you to set filters for your incoming email. You can set your filter by either Sender or Subject Line. It is accessible directly from your message list, so the only reason you ever really need to open the actual application is if you’d like to edit a previously set filter or to view the stats on how many times filters have been executed. Once you decide what the filter is you set the action you’d like taken for this rule.  Your options are to be alerted, delete message, no blinking LED, or to mark it as read. I found it somewhat disappointing that the app only allows one alert setting, if it would allow you to set individual alerts but nonetheless I have grown to find MailMinder an integral part of my BlackBerry life.  I easily give this application a 5 Berry rating because it works as advertised, and makes my BlackBerry virtually spam free.  Easily worth the $3.99 it costs.
