Twitter has been a growing phenomenon for a while now(yes I understand the overwhelming understatement of what I just said. For quite some time the options for Twitter Clients on the BlackBerry were quite slim. TwitterBerry(now dubbed OpenBeak by its creators Orangatame) was the first one that I used personally

Recently there have been more and more Twitter options appearing, some of them better than others, helping to dwindle the once rampant infatuation with the partially attainable SocialScope. One of the most promising in my opinion is the rapidly progressing Seesmic BlackBerry Application, which had a few issues when it first rolled out but has been updated several times since. One of my favorite features of this app is the ability to not only handle multiple accounts(Twitter or Ping.FM) but toggle which you want directly from the update box! I personally rate the app 4 of 5 Berries but this kind of app is purely personal opinion so I suggest you try it and see for yourself if you haven’t already. If you are a fan of using keyboard shortcuts like me see below:

Here are the following keystrokes to navigate through your messages (keys can be in lowercase):

T (top) – Brings you to the top of the messages
B (bottom) – Brings you to the bottom of the messages
ALT + Space – To scroll page down
SHIFT + Space -To scroll for page up
S (search) – To search on Twitter

Use these keyboard shortcuts actions when selecting an update:

C (compose) – To compose a new message/tweet
R (reply) – reply to an update
L (reply to all) – reply to all the usernames in the message
F – To Retweet a tweet with the new Retweet feature (Like forwarding a message in mail)
Q (quote) – To Retweet a tweet using the original method and quoting the initial user
D – Direct Message the current user
*(ALT+A/ALT+Q) – Mark the current tweet as a Favorite or Unfavorite it
M – Brings up the main menu
U (update) – Refreshes the current timeline

Use these ALT combinations to navigate between different timelines:

ALT + H – Home timeline
ALT + R – Replies timelines
ALT + D – Direct messages timeline
ALT + L – Display lists menu
ALT + S – Display lists of searches (saved on your twitter.com account)

Talk Major has Something to Say

I was recently asked on twitter if I would wear a T-Shirt that touted my love of BlackBerry. My response was simply "Hell yeah". The person that asked me was Stephen(@TalkMajor) the creator of TalkMajor.com, a site intent on helping you proudly profess your smartphone love. He only has 3 designs right now (1 each BlackBerry, iphone, and Sidekick) but is going to be expanding the line with 3 new BlackBerry designs very soon.

I was excited about this site from the get go, I have felt for quite some time that smartphone "gear" would be a big hit. Especially with BlackBerry users who in my eyes are proudly one of the more fanatical and loyal smartphone clique. When I received my shirt I was happy to feel that it wasn’t super thin material(not super thick either) and the material was quite soft. The t-shirt is a 50/50 cotton polyester blend and Stephen told me they aren’t supposed to shrink, I’m happy to say that mine did not shrink. This was fantastic news, I’m a pretty good sized guy and I find that an XL usually fits me phenomenally well until its washed after which point my wife claims it as a comfortable shirt to lounge in…… Not this time. This is my first collaborative theme, I recently met Damien(@saxplaya07 on Twitter) and after some conversation we decided to work together on a theme or two. Twitter Contest!!

I have finally got a site design that I am happy with and have some new themes that I am pretty excited about so I want to get some more user involvement.
